It may be well trodden ground (because we’re running up and down, getting in our cardio) but the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh are focussing on fitness in January 2019.
RBGE are hosting a boot-camp breakfast every Saturday morning in January and February 2019. Running (there we go with the cardio again) from 08:45 – 09:45am, the events will comprise of a 45 minute workout, followed by a delicious, well-balanced breakfast.
The eight-week course will be led by Personal Trainer, Jamie McDonough, and tailored to suit those of all abilities and fitness levels. Friendly and professional, Jamie has over 10 years’ experience as a PT and designed the course to maximise calorie expenditure after an indulgent festive season. The full body workouts will include a number of proven exercises, such as kettlebells, core training, battle rope challenges, boxercise and more.
Encouraging you to get out of the gym and into the garden, the work-out will take place in the John Hope Gateway event-space, with beautiful views of Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh’s gorgeous bio-diversity garden. Fraser Sharp, General Manager for Sodexo at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, said; “When the New Year rolls around people often make resolutions to get fit and start exercising, but don’t know where to start. The Botanics Bootcamp offers the perfect opportunity to not only improve your fitness and lose weight, but to do so in the beautiful surrounds of the Botanics.”
Now the fun… sorry, food part. Prestige Venues & Events’ chefs have been busy devising the ultimate post-workout breakfast that is full of nutrients, protein-rich and, of course, exceptionally tasty. Pre-workout, guests will also be welcomed with a freshly-made energy drink, to give participants a burst before class.
