With the hope of Spring to come, and a very welcome rise in temperature, thoughts will turn to the garden and getting it prepared for summer. The Ascot Spring Garden Show from 13-15th April is the perfect place to bring your gardening ideas to life. With twelve stunning gardens, six show gardens from established designers and six from horticultural students in the Young Gardeners of the Year competition, there is plenty of inspiration to be found.
The Complimentary talks theatre plays host to TV Gardener David Domoney, Floral Decorator Simon Lycett, plant pathologist and presenter Pippa Greenwood and the team from Windsor Great Park. Alongside are high quality nurseries with plants for sale and an array of exhibitors offering everything from furniture, outdoor buildings, tools, equipment, sculpture and lighting. The show offers a host of horticultural inspiration and everything you need for the garden.
To ensure you don’t wilt amongst the floral festivities, Ascot have an array of dining and drinking options. If you’re feeling peckish on the go, try the popular Sussex Charmer cheese on toast – a long standing Ascot favourite. For the G&T fan, the Juniper Gin Bar will host an array of botanical themed cocktails, and for the drivers Seedlip will be providing non-alcoholic gin so everyone can enjoy their favourite tipple.
If you prefer to stop, rest your feet and smell the roses, the elegant Parade Ring Restaurant will be serving a botanical inspired Afternoon Tea, designed especially for the Ascot Spring Garden Show in partnership with celebrated pastry Chef, Claire Clark. The delicious menu features tarragon, elderflower, wild strawberry, jasmine and violet flavours; a sensation for the taste buds enjoyed alongside a glass of Champagne or Prosecco.
